ரொரன்ரோ பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் மிஸ்ஸிசாகா வளாகம் தனது முதலாவது தமிழ் அடையாள பரப்புரைப் போராட்டத்தை கடந்த வியாழன் கார்த்திகை 4ம் நாள் முன்னெடுத்தது. அதேவேளை தமிழீழ விடுதலைப்போராட்டத்தில் உயிர்நீத்த எமது மாவீரர்களை கௌரவிக்கும்முகமாகவும் அவர்களின் தியாகங்களை எண்ணிப்பார்க்கும்முகமாகவும் கார்த்திகை மாதத்தை நினைவுகூரும் மாதமாக அறிவித்துள்ளது.தேசியக்கொடி வாரமான முதலாவது வாரத்தில், பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தெற்குக் கட்டிடத்தில் உள்ள நடைபாதையில் தகவல்சாவடி ஒன்று அமைத்து அந்த வழியே செல்லும் தமிழ் மாணவர்களுக்கும் வேற்றினத்தைச் சோ்ந்த மாணவர்களுக்கும் தமிழீழத் தேசியக்கொடியின் அர்த்தம் மற்றும் அதன் முக்கியத்துவம் ஆகியவற்றைப்பற்றி விளக்கம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
அத்தோடு பல்வேறுவகையான காட்சிப்படங்கள் மாணவர்களின் பார்வைக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன. இவை தமிழீழத் தேசியக்கொடியில் உள்ள நிறங்கள் மற்றும் அடையாளங்களைப் பற்றிய விளக்கங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துபவனவாக இருந்தன. தவிர, தமிழீழத்தின் மற்றைய அடையாளச் சின்னங்களான தேசியப்பறவை, தேசியப்பூ, தேசியமரம் ஆகியவற்றைப்பற்றியும் அவை ஏன் தேசிய அடையாளங்களாக தோ்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டன என்பதுபற்றியும் விளக்கம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. அங்கு வந்துசென்ற வேற்றுநாட்டு மாணவர்கள் தமது பெயரையும் தமது நாட்டின் பெயரையும் அங்கு அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மாதிரி தமிழீழ வரைபடத்தின் பின்பகுதியில் எழுதிச்சென்றனர்.
இதன்மூலம் எத்தனை வேறு வேறு நாடுகளைச்சோ்ந்த மாணவர்களுக்கு எமது அடையாளங்களைப்பற்றி படிப்பிக்கப்பட்டது என்பதை அறியமுடிந்தது. இந்த நிகழ்வு பல்கலைக்கழக மாணவர்களின் ஆதரவைப் பெற்று மிகவும் வெற்றிகரமான நிகழ்வாக இடம்பெற்றது.
